Nilfisk awarded a CDP climate score of ‘A’ climbing to a new level of climate leadership
In addition to the climate ‘A’ score, Nilfisk improves its water rating to a ‘B’.
The 2025 CDP reporting round improves Nilfisk’s placement among companies that meet the absolute highest standards in climate transparency and environmental initiatives.
“We are proud and happy to receive an A climate score for the first time. This reflects our strong commitment to climate action throughout the years and continued work to deliver climate progress”, says Malene Thiele, VP, Global ESG & Sustainability at Nilfisk.
CDP continually raises the bar on its requirements to encourage companies to advance their environmental impact. Achieving this level of acknowledgement requires Nilfisk to incorporate climate impact and water into both everyday planning and high-level decision-making.
“Achieving an ‘A’ score in 2025, combined with four years of consistent ‘A-‘ scores, is a testament to our strategic climate efforts and to the power of data to drive change. 2025 has been an important year in Nilfisk’s climate endeavors, because we also committed to Net-Zero by 2040. Year on year, Nilfisk has succeeded in upholding high standards, implementing current best practices, and reducing its carbon footprint, as part of our strategic direction,” says Malene Thiele.
Achieving a B in Water score
Nilfisk began reporting under the water category in 2024, achieving a B- score for water security. This score has now improved to a B in 2025. Reporting on water encompasses various aspects of water consumption, including the ability to reduce use of water through recycling, and the capacity to collect and share data.
“We have little by little been strengthening our work with water, which is now reflected in our improved water score from B- to B. Water is essential for life and an increasingly scarce resource. As many of Nilfisk’s cleaning solutions use water, minimizing product water usage will become a commercial requirement over time,” says Malene Thiele, adding that, in the coming years, Nilfisk will continue to strengthen its reporting on water.
How the market uses CDP data
CDP is the world's leading environmental disclosure platform, and its scores are used by investors, customers, and regulators to assess environmental performance of companies. For instance, analytical service providers analyze CDP data as a source of financial insight, and media climate rankings such as Newsweek’s World’s Greenest Companies and Financial Times’ European Climate Leaders also use CDP data as the source of their rankings.
Facts about CDP

Scoring is based on disclosure, awareness, management, and leadership levels and covers topics like climate, water, forests, plastics, and biodiversity. Nilfisk reports on climate, water, and plastics, and scores are public for climate and water.
