Nilfisk is participating in the Danish business delegation accompanying Their Majesties the King and Queen of Denmark during the official state visit to Australia. The visit highlights the strong commercial and innovation ties between Denmark and Australia, with a particular focus on sustainable technologies and solutions that support healthier environments.

“Nilfisk was founded in Denmark 120 years ago with a simple ambition: to improve people’s quality of life through better cleaning,” said Jon Sintorn, CEO of Nilfisk. “We are proud to represent Danish innovation during this state visit and work with partners in Australia to develop solutions that create cleaner, safer and more sustainable environments.”

Nilfisk’s participation in the delegation reflects Denmark’s strong tradition of developing technologies that improve everyday life while addressing global sustainability challenges. Founded in 1906, Nilfisk has spent 120 years advancing cleaning solutions that support healthier, safer lives.

Today, sustainability is a strategic priority across the company’s business. In 2025, Nilfisk achieved approval of its Net-Zero climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and continues to implement solutions designed to reduce energy, water and chemical consumption while maintaining high cleaning performance. The company has also introduced industry-leading tools such as a CO calculator, enabling customers to estimate the use-phase emissions of Nilfisk equipment, while integrating new materials such as recycled plastics into its product portfolio.

Demand for such capabilities continues to grow as organisations increasingly seek solutions that support both operational efficiency and sustainability goals. Nilfisk has seen customer inquiries related to sustainable product features and data more than double in recent years, highlighting how sustainability has become an important driver of innovation and business value.

As part of the visit, Nilfisk Australia and City Facilities Management will sign a strategic innovation partnership aimed at advancing cleaner, healthier and more efficient buildings across City’s client portfolio. The collaboration will create a structured framework to identify, pilot and scale cleaning technologies and methodologies in live operating environments.

The partnership will initially be implemented in Australia with the ambition to scale successful solutions internationally. By combining Nilfisk’s cleaning technologies and data-driven insights with City’s facilities management expertise, the collaboration aims to optimise resource use, improve hygiene outcomes and support more sustainable building operations.

During the state visit, Danish and Australian companies will meet across sectors to explore opportunities in areas including renewable energy, sustainable buildings and advanced technologies, further strengthening collaboration between the two countries.

The state visit provides an opportunity for Nilfisk to connect with Australian businesses and partners, explore new collaboration opportunities and share Danish expertise in cleaning technologies that support healthier, safer and more sustainable environments across industries.
