Where our innovation story began

When P.A. Fisker was just getting started, he slept on a small cot in the corner of his workshop. His surroundings were modest, but his ideas were anything but. He believed that technology could, and should, change the way people live and work.

That belief sparked his first major breakthrough: Europe’s first electric vacuum cleaner. Suddenly, what had once taken hours of sweeping and beating carpets could be done faster, easier, and with far less strain. It was the start of something bigger than any one product: it was the beginning of a mindset.

Building a legacy of progress

Innovation didn’t slow down after those early days. It accelerated. In the 1940s, we introduced industrial vacuums that set new benchmarks for performance and reliability in factories and production environments. Then, in 1955, we refined floor cleaning with machines that helped businesses clean large surfaces more quickly, more safely, and more consistently.

Decade after decade, we’ve built on this tradition of progress. Whether it was improving filtration, reducing noise, boosting ergonomics, or integrating smarter controls, we’ve pushed to make each generation of equipment better than the last.

Because for us, innovation isn’t about novelty. It’s about creating the tools people need to work smarter, stay safer, and clean more efficiently.

Over the years we have developed hundreds of solutions, but, for us, the numbers aren’t important. It’s the impact that matters. Each new solution represents a problem solved, a customer helped, or a job made easier.

As we celebrate 120 years of innovation, we’re proud of where we’ve been. But even more excited about where we’re going.
New technologies will continue to reshape our world, and we plan to stay at the forefront: imagining, testing, refining, and reinventing what clean can be.

Because for us, innovation has never been about gadgets or complexity. It’s about making life better through clean, and doing it smarter every time.
