Energy rating

EU Regulations

The European Union introduced regulations in 2014 requiring manufacturers to label vacuum cleaner performance.

This makes it easy to compare and understand each product’s energy consumption and performance levels, such as how well it picks up dust.

Some vacuum cleaners are not covered by these regulations, including battery vacuum cleaners, and wet & dry and wide area vacuum cleaners.

How to read the label:

  • I. Energy rating for the product

  • II. Average annual energy consumption

  • III. Sound level for the product

  • IV. Hard floor cleaning rating

  • V. Dust re-emission rating

  • VI. Carpet cleaning rating
