Nilfisk-Advance to Consolidate Production in North America

As a part of the ongoing increase in production efficiency it has been
decided to cease production and development activities in Bowling Green,
Ohio and relocate to Nilfisk’s production facility in Plymouth, Minnesota.
The Bowling Green production facility, which is specialized within cleaning
equipment for the industrial market, became part of the Nilfisk-Advance
Group in 2004 when Nilfisk-Advance acquired ALTO.
The efficiencies achieved by consolidating production into Plymouth,
Minnesota will make Nilfisk-Advance more competitive and position the North
American organization for increasing market share. The consolidation will
enable Nilfisk-Advance to continue investing in new products and further
its mission to “drive down the total cost to clean”.
92 employees in Bowling Green will be affected by the closing beginning in
late fall 2005, with the consolidation expected to be completed by spring
2006. The company will add jobs to its Minnesota facility with the increase
in production and development activities, and some employees from Ohio may
relocate to Minnesota.
The cost for the implementation will not affect the financial result for
2005, as this was provisioned for when acquiring ALTO.
Nilfisk-Advance will continue to invest substantially in its range of
industrial cleaning equipment and increase its combined market share
globally.
