Nilfisk-Advance is integrating Gerni into Nilfisk-ALTO

The production of Gerni high-pressure cleaners is going to be closed down.
On-going activities will be transfers to Nilfisk-ALTO. 55 of 84 staff members will be affected of the phase out of Gerni.
The decision to stop the manufacturing of Gerni high-pressure cleaners is made as a consequence of unsatisfactory performance on sales and earnings in Randers. Several examinations and analyses confirm that this situation also will be the result in a future perspective.

For that reason Nilfisk-Advance has chosen in the future to base the high-pressure cleaner business on the products from Nilfisk-ALTO, which has been a part of Nilfisk-Advance since the acquisition of ALTO in the spring of 2004.
The sales of high-pressure product did last year reach about 18% of the total turnover for Nilfisk-Advance and with a significant weight on products from Nilfisk-ALTO.

ALTO products are offered to Gerni dealers
Until January 1, 2007 the present Gerni products will still be manufactured and sold. At the same time the present Gerni dealers will be offered to expand the programme with high-pressure cleaners that comes from the sister organization, Nilfisk-ALTO. In this way the existing dealers of Gerni products will have the opportunity to have an attractive and competitive product range for the customers.
Customer support, technical support as well as delivery of spare part, which are attached to the present products from Gerni will continue in regie of Nilfisk-ALTO.

Integration and out phasing
By the end of 2006, the major part of the production in Randers will be close down with end production for selected products during 1 quarter of 2007. The remaining part regarding spare parts will be moved to the Nilfisk-ALTO premises in Hadsund. Employees for market and production support will likewise be moved to Hadsund.
The sales and service organization of Gerni will be integrated into the Nilfisk-ALTO sales companies.
Over all, the phasing out of the activities will have affect to 55 of the present 84 staff members in Randers.
